Retailtainment Destination
Shopping Center
Kingdom of Bahrain
In 2003, Gulf Finance House was seeking a unique shopping mall concept. Edifice along with the expertise of Retail International, a leading retail consultant specialized in shopping center development and marketing, and Paris-based architects Dominique Leon, Harold Cornier and Alban Guerin Surville developed the concept design of Retailtainment Destination, a convergence of retail and entertainment with a GLA of 70,000 square meters comprising 250 shops, 3 anchor stores, a multiplex and cultural center, 3 leisure centers, and street-scape cafes.
A key architectural feature of this project was the integration of fractured openings which anchor and transversely segment the mall into distinctive thematic zones of discovery.
